Lake of Sins: Escape

A mournful howl broke the silence of the forest. Guards on scent. Trinity ran. She couldn’t let them catch her. She skidded to a halt. A rock wall loomed in front of her. The brush rustled behind her. It was too late. They’d found her. She turned, her breath catching in her throat. A Tracker, the deadliest of predators, towered above her. Its eyes glowed yellow in the shadowed forest, and its mouth hung open, exposing a row of sharp teeth. Being caught by the Guards no longer seemed so bad.
